Their project was to replace the school’s antiquated phone system with an updated system. They went with an easy-to-use, cloud-based platform with a full-featured phone system combined with audio/video/content sharing, chat, conferencing, and file sharing and backup capabilities.
Good Shepherd has expanded operations to include several school locations. With these changes, maintaining a reliable and effective communications system has become increasingly important. In addition, with lap-top computers, tablets and smart phones in the classrooms, the school needs a system that can function across all of these platforms. As an example, student data, captured on tablets in the classrooms, will be uploaded to the cloud and accessible in the school’s electronic records.
"The new 'unified communications' system has been wonderful! It allows the office to be more efficient and professional, and the staff to more effectively communicate, collaborate and be more productive. All staff now have voice mail, including satellite classrooms. Calls can be transferred to the Classroom Lead Behavior Interventionist extension and caller can leave a message that goes to email and can also be played back through i-Tunes. All extensions can leave different recordings tailored to the school schedule, after hours or any closures."
