The Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma awards grants to parishes, apostolates, and other ministries for projects that strengthen families, improve faith formation for children and adults, assist youth, foster discipleship, integrate the ministry work of our diverse Catholic community, demonstrate love of neighbor by way of Catholic social teaching, and express the love of God in liturgical life.
Parish Life Grants seek to provide financial support for local ministry advancing "Go Make Disciples: Building a Culture of Conversion and Discipleship" at the local level.
Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City are invited to submit applications for Parish Life Grants from the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma.
In his Vision 2030 pastoral plan, Archbishop Coakley says it is "The deepest desire of my heart is to see the Church of central and western Oklahoma flourish as a community of faith that nurtures and raises up fervent missionary disciples." This vision guides the Foundation's grant evaluation process.
Categories include the foundation of the Vision 2030 plan:
Family - strengthen marriages & family life
Young People - address the unique needs of the young
Education - strengthen education & formation
Discipleship - build a culture of conversion and discipleship
Cultural Groups - integrate ministry efforts
Liturgical Life - love of God
Catholic Social Teaching - love of neighbor
The Catholic Foundation will fund up to 75% of the cost of a project, encouraging involvement of the local community. The amount awarded varies based on need and typically range anywhere from $1,000 - $10,000.
Grants are for future projects. Projects should be completed between February 2025 - February 2026.
Grants are not intended to reimburse past projects.
The application period is from September 1 - September 30, 2024.
Grants are only to be used for the project specified in the application, as grants are awarded based on a competitive process. Not all requests will be funded.
Limit one grant application for one project per parish.
Accountability forms for past grants must be completed before future grant applications will be considered.
Priority is given to parishes that have not previously received an award or have received less money than other parishes in the past.
To encourage the use of resources made available by the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, Parish Life Grants may be funded at 100% if archdiocesan facilities are used for retreats or camps.
