Grants are awarded for specific projects, based on:
- the objective of the project;
- the expected outcome and impact;
- the need for financial assistance to accomplish the stated goal
The Catholic Foundation will fund up to 75% of the cost of a project, encouraging involvement of the local community. Please plan how much money will be needed from other funding sources and how to make up the difference. The grants are typically less than $10,000 and are based on need.
Please note:
- Grants are not for operating expenses, fund raising events, debt reduction, brick and mortar projects, endowment funds or capital campaigns.
- Not all requests are funded.
- Grants are for future projects and not intended to reimburse past projects.
- Grant awards will be announced May 12, 2025
- All projects must be completed within one year of the award notification.
- Grant should only be used for the specified project in the application and should align with Archbishop's Vision 2030.
- Grants are evaluated and awarded based on a competitive process, therefore changing the project after the grant has been awarded is not permitted.
- A Grant Accountability Report must be submitted upon completion of the project. For access, sign in to your account.
- If the project is not complete by May 11, 2026, a Grant Status Report must be submitted.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
2319 - Every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is sacred because the human person has been willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God.
2270 - Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person--among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.
Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. Jeremiah 1:5
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. Psalm 139:15
2276 - Those whose lives are diminished or weakened deserve special respect. Sick or handicapped persons should be helped to lead lives as normal as possible.
2299 - The dying should be given attention and care to help them live their last moments in dignity and peace. They will be helped by the prayer of their relatives, who must see to it that the sick receive at the proper time the sacraments that prepare them to meet the living God.
