The Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma awards grants to support projects at schools that strengthen families, improve faith formation for children, foster discipleship and integrate the ministry work of our diverse Catholic community.
Grants are awarded for specific projects, based on:- the objective of the project;
- the expected outcome and impact;
- the need for financial assistance to accomplish the stated goal.
The Catholic Foundation will fund up to 75% of the cost of a project, encouraging involvement of the local community. The grants are typically less than $10,000 and are based on need.
Grant categories:
- Discipleship - Build a culture of conversion and discipleship (ex. retreats, speakers)
- Education - Strengthen education and formation at all levels (ex. faculty development, education materials)
- Young People - Address the needs of the young (ex. technology updates)
- Family - Strengthen marriages and family life
- Cultural Groups - Integrate ministry efforts for the Hispanic population and other cultural groups
- Liturgical Life - Love of God (ex. sacred music, vocations exploration)
- Catholic Social Teaching - Love of neighbor
Please note:.- Grants are not for operating expenses, fund raising events, debt reduction, brick and mortar projects, endowment funds or capital campaigns.
- Not all requests are funded
- Grant requests must be for projects that will be after the award notification May 12, 2025 as grants are not intended to reimburse past expenses.
- All projects must be completed by May 11, 2026.
- A Grant Accountability Report must be submitted with photos by May 11, 2026.
- Submission of reports for past projects is a requirement for future applications to be considered.

Discipleship
Build a culture of conversion and discipleship
Christ the King Catholic School added OSV Kids Magazine to their theology curriculum.It is our hope that knowledge of and enthusiasm for the faith will be an outcome in using the materials. We have been very impressed with the 3rd grade reaction to the content and expect that it will be just as positive for the younger grades. They have enjoyed the crafts, the activities, learning about the saints and virtues each month - all in a way that is at their level and interesting to them.
Education
Strengthen education and formation at all levels
In 2022 the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma awarded an Education Grant to Bishop John Carroll School for OLWEUS anti-bullying training for teachers and students.
Young People
Address the needs of the young
In 2022 the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma awarded an Education Grant to Sacred Heart Catholic School in El Reno to purchase new laptops for teachers to stream Formed content about the saints, create Google classrooms, and publish newsletters.
Liturgical Life
Love of God
In 2022 the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma awarded an Education Grant to Saint Philip Neri Catholic School to purchase an online music curriculum and keyboards.
